Guwahati : Thousands of devotees have been suffering great trouble after the Kamrup ( M ) administration evacuated the Kamakhya temple premises in the late evening of 22 June ; Devotees said.
“Never before; I have had such experience. Now where will I go ?”A Sadhu from Uttar Pradesh told OUR INDIA.NET.
OUR INDIA is the only news platform which brought forward the problems faced by pilgrims. It is contradicting the state government claims of taking adequate measures for the success of the Ambubachi Mela.
“There is no place as it is full to live in the make shift camps . What the BJP ruled government has been doing here ? ” Some devotees from Tinsukia district of upper Assam questioned chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and made him responsible for the chaos and disorder due to the evacuation.
Sources said that the Pandu Port which can host up to 15,000 people has been turned into a shelter for the pilgrims. However it was noticed that some of the visitors were still resorting to staying near the temple and on the streets due to limited capacity at Pandu Port .
“There is no alternative accommodation, where shall we go ?” Sadhus complained. It may be noted that the administration had already stated in a press conference to leave the premises from 9pm to 5 am for safety measures and cleaning up the temple. The door of the temple has already been closed down which will open on June 26
The Deputy commissioner’s office neither responded the call or the email of the correspondent. Nearly only lakh pilgrims turned on the first day of Ambubachi Mela in Guwahati’s Kamakhya temple from different parts of the country and across the globe.
